Hong Kong Tag (HKTag) is pleased to announce the 2018 Tag World Cup squads.
Following weeks of competitive trials, HKTag can now reveal 36-player open squad heading to the 2018 Tag World Cup, taking place 1-4 November in Coffs Harbour, Australia. Hong Kong will be represented at the World Cup in the mixed open and male open divisions.
The Hong Kong based mixed open team is managed by Winnie Wong, and the Sydney-based male open squad is managed by Simon Wong and Jacky Ho. This is Hong Kong’s first ever appearance in an international tag rugby competition and marks an historic occasion for the team.
Neville Metcalfe, Chairman, HKTag, says
“Tag rugby continues to go from strength to strength in Hong Kong and we are incredibly proud to send two teams to the Tag 2018 World Cup, just three short years after launching the sport here. Our focus on the mixed game format is what differentiated us from the very start, enabling us to bring together a competitive mixed tag team for November.”
